You can open a Mastercard in dollars or euros remotely without visiting Armenia or registering in the country. The account is topped up without commission through Russian banks, Apple Pay and Google Pay are linked to the card, and it works everywhere abroad.
What the Armenian Bank Card Offers
The card is issued in dollars or euros and is a Mastercard. Apple Pay and Google Pay can be linked to it. You can receive salary from abroad via Swift transfers, make international transfers, and pay for foreign services: Google, Adobe, Microsoft, Zoom, Spotify, Figma. With the card, you can rent cars at airports abroad and book hotels on Booking, Airbnb, and Agoda thanks to the credit BIN.
When paying in stores abroad, no commissions are charged: if goods cost 100 euros, exactly 100 euros will be debited. There are no hidden fees. The card is valid for several years from the date of opening.
How to Top Up the Card from Russia
The account is topped up from Russian banks: Sberbank, Tinkoff, VTB, Alfa. Transfers are made by account number, card number, or phone number, and all options are commission-free.
Receiving money by account number takes 1–3 hours on a business day; if the transfer is sent on a weekend, the money will arrive on the next business day. Topping up by card number is instant, but the exchange rate is slightly less favorable than when transferring by account number. There are no limits on monthly expenses.
Incoming Transfers and Payment Systems
Swift transfers in dollars and euros arrive in the account. You can receive salary from abroad, exchange it to rubles, and withdraw it to a Russian account.
Through the MoneyGram fast transfer system, you can send up to 3,000 dollars at a time to any European card or to the USA. Through the bank’s app, the limit increases to 10,000 dollars. The card can be linked to PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat.
The account is also topped up with USDT: if you work on exchanges like Binance or Bybit, you can top up the card directly from cryptocurrency.
Terms of Opening and Security
The bank has state participation: more than 50% of capital belongs to the state. It is in the top 10 largest banks in Armenia, has all banking licenses, complies with laws and regulations.
The card is issued embossed in the cardholder’s name. An account can be opened without registration in Armenia and without a residence permit. Russians are officially allowed to have an Armenian bank card and to transfer money to accounts in CIS countries and withdraw from them. This is not prohibited by Russian law. The only requirement is to notify the tax service (FNS) of opening an account abroad — this is done online through the official channel.
The card is blocked rarely, only if you transfer illegal amounts or large volumes through cryptocurrency. With normal use, the card works stably.

How to Open a Card Remotely
The process consists of five stages. At the first stage, you go to the contacts and fill out a form with basic questions, attach a scan of your passport. The bank prepares the documents and begins processing.
Within 1–2 business days, a bank account is opened, and you receive a notification. After that, the account can already be topped up from Russia. If you need a card urgently and cannot wait for the plastic, you can open a virtual card and link it to Google Pay or Apple Pay for use abroad.
At the fourth stage, the card is delivered by the bank’s courier service in a sealed envelope. We are the only ones on the market who can deliver a card not only to Russia but also to many foreign countries. After receiving the plastic card, you activate it yourself through the app and set a PIN code.
Officially, the bank can process the card for up to 10 days. Usually the process takes 1–2 weeks. If you open the card on your own by flying to Armenia, you need to add 7–10 days for processing at the bank plus transportation costs and accommodation expenses.
Risks and Precautions
Many scammers have appeared on the market. Some promise to open a card through gray schemes cheaper than usual, but then disappear or fail to prepare the necessary documents. As a result, the card may not work or be blocked, and the owner is offered to come to Armenia to resolve the issue.
If you open the card directly through the bank, you become its official client. This guarantees legal protection and timely assistance with any issues. With normal use of the card—smooth transfers of several thousand dollars or euros back and forth—no problems with account blocking arise even in CIS countries.
